I started woodworking in 6th grade, in a mandatory woodshop class, run by a great teacher. He let me come back when I was in college to use the shop and continue to make furniture and gifts. I bought a lathe as a gift to myself after graduate school and started making pens which were easy when I lived in an apartment.
Life got busy and the lathe sat and got rusty.
A few years ago I cleaned it up, bought some new tools and started working again. And now I enjoy making things so much that I want to share what I make with others (and make a little money doing it).
So, I hope you like what I make. I can make all sorts of kitchen gadgets, bowls, pens and even furniture, but working on the lathe is what I like best (despite its occasional frustrations).
Why LatheGoddess? No, it's not because I have a huge ego. It's because my name (Freya) is a Norse Goddess of love, beauty and strength. All of which I try to put into my work on the lathe.
Open to orders from anyone, but perfect for realtors looking for client gifts, or anyone looking for housewarming presents.
